Which Festool Dust Extractor should I buy?

The two most popular models are the CT MIDI Bluetooth HEPA and the CT 26 HEPA for sawdust extration and general clean up. There is a very small difference in CFM (130 CFM for the CT MIDI versus 138 CFM for the CT 26) but the main difference is in capacity (4.0 Gallon capacity for the CT MIDI versus 6.9 Gallon for the CT 26). If you need a Dust Extractor for high-volume fine dust like drywall or silica dust you should purchase one of the AutoClean models either the CT 36 EI AC or the CT 48 EI AC once again the main difference being the capacity (9.5 Gallon for the CT 36 EI AC versus 12.7 Gallon for the CT 48 EI AC). 

CT 15 vs. CT MIDI

Both the CT 15 and CT MIDI offer 130 CFM and 4.0 Gallon debris capacity. The CT MIDI has the added advantages of a hose garage to store your hose in transport and when not in use, a smooth tapered hose design, built-in Bluetooth capabilities and a parking brake to keep the extractor in place on uneven surfaces or at the top of a staircase.

The Festool AutoClean Dust Extractors (CT 36 EI AC & CT 48 EI AC) feature enhanced automatic filter cleaning, designed for high-volume, fine dust extraction like drywall, silica, or concrete dust ensuring consistently high suction power, longer working intervals and time savings. 

Can I use a Festool Dust Extractor as a wet vac?

Yes, any of the Festool Dust Extractors other than the CTC SYS can be used as wet vacs. You will need to purchase and install a wet filter for your model dust extractor and replace the installed HEPA filter and also remove the self cleaning filter bag to allow the liquid to go straight into the container. The Festool Dust Extractors have a "level stop" sensor that shuts of the CT once the liquid reaches the sensors to shut the CT off electronically to prevent any damage to the motor.
